Where is the restaurant located and what is the best way to get there?

The restaurant is located on the corner of Křemencova and Opatovická streets in the center of Prague. The best way to reach us is by taking a tram to the Národní divadlo stop, or by taking the metro to the Národní třída station, from where it’s just a few minutes’ walk.

Hostinec U Matěje Kotrby is open every day from 11:30 AM to 11:00 PM. The second part of our restaurant is also open from Sunday to Thursday from 11:30 AM to 11:00 PM, and on Fridays and Saturdays we extend our opening hours until 1:00 AM.

You can reserve a table at our restaurant directly through the reservation form on our website, or simply give us a call at +420 224 930 768.

Yes, we are happy to welcome walk-in guests, but we cannot guarantee that a table will be available—especially in the evening hours—so we recommend making a reservation in advance.

We hold the table for a maximum of 15 minutes after the reservation time. If you know you’ll be running late, just give us a call and we’ll be happy to extend your reservation.

U Matěje Kotrby Restaurant offers traditional Czech cuisine with a modern twist. We pride ourselves on using honest, high-quality ingredients and preparing our dishes in-house.

From Monday to Friday, we offer a value-priced lunch menu. In the evenings and on weekends, guests can choose from our regular à la carte menu, which features a selection of traditional Czech dishes.

Yes, vegetarians will have no trouble finding something they’ll enjoy—we offer dishes such as a selection of marinated cheeses, vegetable crudités, blueberry dumplings, fried cheese, or apple strudel. As for soups, our cabbage soup can be served without sausage. While we do not have a dedicated vegan menu, some dishes (e.g., crudités without the dip) can be adjusted upon request—just speak with our staff.
